How should I dispose of dog dirt?

The dog waste stations dispense dog poop bags free of charge and provide a bin for putting them in. The stations can be found at street corners and other places frequently visited by dogs and their owners.

Remember: If you do not pick up after your dog, you are committing a regulatory offense (Ordnungswidrigkeit) for which, under the police regulations of the City of Heidelberg, you can be fined 50 euros. Places where dog fouling is particularly common are monitored extra carefully. Signs can be found in these places warning dog owners to clear up after their dogs.
