For keen amateur gardeners, Heidelberg’s allotments are the perfect place to get away from it all. 

Virtually every district of Heidelberg has its own ‘allotment association’ or ‘amateur gardeners’ association’, and anyone interested in nature or plants is very welcome to join. Association members share a passion for getting creative in their little oases of green, either alone or with others. They also – almost without noticing – make an important contribution to the look of the city.
