The City Hall is near

Located directly on the busy market place, with a view of the Historic Town, the world-renowned castle ruins and the course of the River Neckar is the City Hall of Heidelberg - centre of local politics and the city administration. The residents of the Historic Town can find here their Administrative Office for Citizens (Bürgeramt), the "small City Hall". Every district has their own "small City Hall" which keeps the visit to the administration office short. In practice the closeness to the citizens continues in the extensive e-citizen-services, the mayor's office hours, the various political committees and at last but not least in Heidelberg's way of civic participation.
